I'm Travelling James, a United States Air Force veteran that sold everything I owned in 2014 to travel the world, full-time.
Have you ever said to yourself any of the following:
If so, your words have been heard. Over the past six years, I've helped numerous travelers to answer those questions, and travel more for less with boots on the ground guides and assistance. By utilizing this website, you can spend less time searching the endless Internet and being overloaded with information and more time doing what you love, travelling.
My parents were nomadic, this is in my DNA. I began travelling at three months of age. My Mother worked on the east coast and my Father worked on the west coast. I grew up in the states of Michigan, California, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, and Louisiana.
My junior high and high school years went by way too fast, almost a blur. I remember attending four junior high schools, and three high schools, in four different states. Being the "new kid" in a different school every year taught me if nothing else how to present myself to people in different environments.
At the age of nineteen, my solo travels began on an international level by following my father's footsteps and enlisting in the United States Air Force, active duty. Like many others before me, I traveled to San Antonio, Texas for Boot Camp and technical school. After completion, I was assigned to my first duty station in the beautiful town of, Aviano, Italy.
While my mind was going nuts with thoughts of all the travelling I was about to do, my parents were going a different kind of nuts. They gave me strict orders. "Stay on base, call home every Sunday, and do not make them come looking for me!" I followed two out of the three.
I was now the captain of my own ship, new to Europe and every day was new and exciting. I called home every Sunday, and did not make them come looking for me, but staying on base was difficult as I had travelling in my blood. As destiny played out, my co worker on base was a lady named Gloria Leonarduzzi. Gloria was an Italian National that worked on base and was very well known for her group guided tours. She took me under her wing as I was the youngest in the office and still calls me "Kid" to this day. On weekends, I was learning, taking notes, and travelling with Gloria!
By the time my enlistment was complete, I had travelled to every region of Italy and throughout the bordering countries including, France, Germany, Austria, and Slovenia. It was official - the travel bug had bitten me and there was no cure! It was not long after my honorable service and travels ended with Uncle Sam before I was off again. This time I was travelling with Mom, as a mother and son duo that sold everything they owned to travel the world full-time.
My Mother had recently retired and I worked online. One day she called and said she wanted to move to Belize! I said, "where"? I had never heard of the country called Belize, but she read a travel guide and wanted to try living there for six months. On May 3rd, 2014, my passport arrived in the mail - probably the happiest day of my life! In the following three weeks, we had sold two cars, two households of furniture, and donated carloads of clothes to the Goodwill that would not fit into two suitcases. We were on our way with one way tickets to Belize, open minds, pure hearts, and happy to be together.
From 2014 to 2017 my Mother and I travelled full-time throughout Central America, enjoying the expat life while living abroad. We visited amazing countries together such as Belize, Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Honduras. In 2017 my Mother began her soul transition from a portal location in Mexico, a Puerto, in the Spanish language. I honored my Mother in Mexico and Belize, where our adventure began. She's still travelling with me, talking to me often, just now in spirit.
Since 2017, I have continued travelling internationally, exploring over 20 countries, travelling thousands of miles, sleeping in hundreds of hotels, experiencing exotic foods (including fried crickets), making lifelong friends, and, most importantly, making it my mission to help travellers like yourself escape, explore, and experience our beautiful world.
I'm Travelling James, thank you for stopping by, and please, feel free to ask questions.
